The family was vacationing in a remote forest in Maryland when they met a friendly bear who decided to join them in their feast.
In an incredible video posted by Caitlin Nesbit on TikTok, she sees a bear sitting on the edge of a picnic table.
She calmly and patiently waited for the peanut sandwich, which was fed directly by one of the men.
Nesbit was among the witnesses, panting in disbelief as they watched the moment in Deep Creek, where his family was in a cabin.
The group continued to make sandwiches for the bear, which was sitting with them as if it were one of a gang.
“This was a friend’s house, they said the bear is always close, it never bothers them,” Nesbit said.
“Some of our group is used to being in the wild, so we were all told not to make sudden movements, to stay where we were.”
“Many of us were scared to death, we were shot from the deck, but the brave ones tried their luck.”
The bear came out of the trees looking for food before joining the group of four men and women having a party at one of the tables.
The group was enjoying a drink and a few snacks while nervously watching the hungry animal wait for its meal to be served.
One of the men decided to take a loaf of bread, pointing to the bear and telling the bear to wait until he made the sandwich, just like you are a dog.
In the video, you can hear what the viewers say. “This is a real joke,” we thought.
When the sandwich is ready, the man holds it in front of the bear, who slowly takes it from his hand.
They even hid the beer snack if the bear looked at the soft drink.
“Eventually, my mother returned to the forest unharmed,” Nesbit added.
