Neglected For 10 Years, Senior Dog Had Maggots Crawling In His Infected Skin

ART and NATURE

It was a quiet month for ANNA Shelter Animal Cruelty, but now they have their hands full with a dog who desperately needed help, writes ilovemydogsomuch.

Officer Duckett answered calls all day, but his latest case turned out to be one of the worst neglect cases he had ever seen.

The older dog they took, now called the younger one, was badly injured but is now in good hands.

Dr. Crystal Franklin and her team at the ANNA Health Center in Erie examined the poor baby to develop a treatment plan.

Tauna came to the shelter at Posh Paws Dog Spa to have her hair styled and neglected for years.

His fur was so tangled that he could not see or walk;

he almost lost the circulation in his legs from the knots that were so tightly wrapped around them.

It ended in severe infections to the point that his feet were covered with larvae.

He was covered in his urine, he smelled so bad. His nails were overgrown, his stomach and feet were covered with urine, and all but one of his teeth were missing.

Junior, who is thought to be ten or older, remains in the care of an asylum health center, but they are currently looking for a good hospice caregiver to make a living.

She feels much better, she likes to walk in the grass. He moves his tail, he is very friendly but still very painful, he takes painkillers to control the pain.
