The RSPCA has launched an investigation into animal cruelty after a sick, neglected Pug puppy was thrown at an Essex veterinary clinic, writes ilovemydogsomuch.
Surveillance videos recorded a young, dark-haired man leaving a 6-week-old puppy in a laundry basket near the clinic door. The dirty basket had a bowl of milk and some food.
The vet took the puppy and named it Mr Bagles.
The delicate creature had torn eyes and a very thin body. The staff monitored him 24/7 and gave him the best treatment, but Mr Bagles’ health deteriorated. The sweet boy had to be put to sleep to end his suffering mercifully.
RSPCA investigators now fear for the welfare of Mr Bagles’s’s friends mother’s dog, who is likely to face a similar abuse situation or may need urgent medical attention.
It is believed that Mr Bagles’s health problems may have been caused by irresponsible breeding aimed at milking the Christmas puppy market.
Many breeders in the yard are often seen forcing garbage to meet the growing demand for pups on holidays.
Another concern is the reckless hacking of puppies used to give puppies extremely “beautiful” features, such as massive eyes and flat faces, all of which lead to respiratory and vision problems that endanger puppies’ health and longevity.
The RSPCA urges the public to be careful when buying puppies from the shadows.
