“The salvation of a wandering St. Louis” shared the story that touched the heart of a mother named Champagne and the rescue of her 7 cubs, writes ilovemydogsomuch.
Champagne, the homeless dog, was to give birth in the winter. She entered a neighbourhood of abandoned houses and crawled into a dilapidated house just before giving birth.
The house was full of dangerous debris in every corner, but Champagne just wanted to keep his kids warm.
A rescuer named Donna noticed the champagne and immediately organized a rescue team. They entered a colony of dilapidated houses on a cold day and were surprised to see Champagne in the very first house.
However, they did not expect the mother dog’s strong distrust of people.
In this video, we see how rescuers greet Champagne down the stairs. But the dog’s panicked face is enough for the rescuers to understand that he is going to run away.
Rescuers chase after Champagne as he escapes to the upstairs bedroom. Their hearts stop when they see a frightened dog standing on the windowsill, thinking of jumping.
Fortunately, Champagne gave up the idea of jumping and ran into the cradle to hide. The rescuers saw their opportunity to catch him. They took her to a rescue van and re-entered to fetch her cubs.
When the rescuers found the cubs, they were impressed to see that the champagne had fed them well and was firmly tucked into a pile of clothes. What a clever mother!
Champagne finally realized that she and her cubs were in safe hands. He lost his fear of people and hugged his rescuers on the way to the shelter.
