A group of children were playing outside their Arizona home when they met a kitten. At first they might have wanted to play with it, but soon it became clear that he could not play, writes kittencatpost.
They did the right thing: they immediately brought the little bundle to their parents, who called Katie Hamel, director of Small Breed Rescue, Arizona Shih Tzu.
His legs, which had apparently been broken earlier, were wrapped in some rough plaster. As soon as Kathy arrived, she knew this little kitten had to be taken to her vet to have her legs evaluated.
One of the children who brought the kitten to their parents came with Katie. He was probably 3 or 4 years old, he named the kitten Cupcake, and Kathy promised to keep that name.
It’s so good to see that these kids were kind to Cupcake helped her, some kids can be just as cruel as these kids to this kitten.
When they got to the vet, they found that the cast had to be soaked in water so that they could be removed.
The veterinarian removed the cupcake plaster the worst was expected, after all, they were covered only with wooden staples pieces of fabric. One of the casts was so tightly wrapped around the cat’s little leg that it had to get wet for a while.
Neither the vet nor Kathy had ever seen anything like it. The elementary cast did the job.
Kathy said. “Apart from the strange machine he was pulling with him, he was so incredibly small. He was much bigger in the picture sent to me. ” It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
“She is a tough little girl with a wonderful spirit,” said Hamel. “He was as tolerant of all the pulling, washing, pushing, needles and thermometers as he was of countless people, all those who just tried to help him.
“He growls, he demands attention, he does not seem to have a bad attitude towards people for what they have done to him.”
She now has a foster family who has organized and is waiting to take her home
The cat weighed only a pound, then the cast was removed and it still had to gain some weight before it could leave the shelter. Fortunately, Cupcake already has a foster family waiting to help him when he recovers.
Cupcake is getting healthier every day.
“He presses his head against your finger to make you rub on him, scratching his head,” said Hamel. “She likes to be caressed, but she is so small that you can only caress her [with one or two fingers, not a whole hand yet.”
