Ash Ruder, a singer, and songwriter gets her musical ideas from her childhood father, Bryan. His playing the piano was her first introduction to the creative music world.
She had no idea that his life would influence her journey to Hollywood to compete in the next season of American Idol.
Even though he is now her inspiration, things weren’t always like that. Ash explained that Ash’s father struggled with addiction all her life and was rarely present.
I was extremely enraged with my father by the time I was older, Ash continued: however, the few occasions my father would show up. To me, it meant the world.
Bryan overcame his addiction and is attending the American Idol auditions with Ash.
Ash was quick to point out that it was her dad’s birthday, and the judges decided to invite him in after learning that the song she was going to perform was written by her about her dad.
“Hey, dad, what were you trying to accomplish?” Ash sang and made everyone in the house weeping. Lionel Richie said, “You can sing,” and he went on:
