A dog named Powder was thrown by its heartless owners in the center of the Everglades in Florida, writes ilovemydogsomuch.
The dog had no idea how to care for a desert swamp. He remained hungry for days, the harsh environment caused him several infections.
The poor dog realized that no one would ever find him, so he found a lonely place and waited for him to die.
Just then, the visiting couple noticed the frightened, confused Powder and shook his hand. They called the police at Broward Sheriff’s Office and assured the weakened dog that he would receive help soon.
But when the police arrived, they realized that Powder was too sick to even stand.
The police comforted Powder, gave him food and water, and finally won his trust. Then he was taken to the car.
They contacted Dezzy’s Second Chance Animal Rescue and handed the dog over to them for emergency care. But Powder’s medical examination showed that the dog would not survive long in the swamp
The dust had the severe, bleeding plague, internal infections.
He needed eye surgery, but the veterinarian postponed the operation until his infections were gone. There is a long way to go before recovery, but at least now he is in good hands.
Or the owner of the Powder may never be found, we are haunted by the thought that man deliberately left the dog to die in the desert.
