The driver of the truck was traveling in Minnesota one night when the temperature dropped below zero when he made a terrible discovery.

Clayton Van Vert did not hesitate to catch the frightened, wheezing cub through the fire, burning his bare hands. He went to the puppy rescue center, where Phoenix was immediately taken to an ambulance.

Veterinarians shaved his skin to check for skin damage.
