Sometimes life is so cruel that a man’s best friend finds himself in a shelter with many dogs.
Or for some of them a new chapter begins after their adoption, for others the situation turns out to be heartbreaking, because the only other option is to overthrow it.
As a dog lover, I cry every time I see a dog in such circumstances. However, no matter how much we try to do something to help these poor creatures, sometimes we are helpless.
For the two dogs of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue in Atlanta, Kala Keira, fate seemed to decide.
They were going to euthanize because no one wanted to adopt them, even if they were so loving, well-trained puppies.
As time was running out, the shelter volunteers made a last-ditch effort to find them a new home.
They shared a photo of the couple embracing on Facebook in a desperate attempt to save themselves.
“I am Kala. This is Kira. We are so scared here. People working in shelters see how scared we are, but they just tell each other that today is our deadline. If no one saves us, someone will take him away from me.
I will see him as he descends the corridor. He will not return, I will cry. “They will come to me next time, and I will not be so brave,” they wrote in the caption.
And they succeed, because the powerful image went viral in a matter of minutes. Less than two hours after the photo was posted on Facebook, Kalan Kira’s savior came in.
“There are no words to tell you how happy we are that these two best friends are safe together.” said the shelter staff.
Fortunately, these two girls are now happily living in their new home. This story could not have ended better.
