Derrick Schmidt and her fiancé was acquired by their dog, Dexter, when he was only 6 months old.
The couple always wanted to have a dog, so they looked at pictures of dogs on the shelter website when they found it.

As they made their way to the shelter, Dexter leaned over Derrick and looked at him.
Derrick looked at his fiancé and said that he was being adopted. Dox, the neighborhood dog, joined the family six months after Dexter.
The district dog was just walking around playing with Dexter in the yard. Derrick was hesitant about Doaks at first, but when the two dogs first met, they both immediately started playing.

They acted as if they were long-lost brothers. Doaks was always there when Derrick was doing yard work. He came and saw them. He was walking around without a collar.
When Derrick found the animals in search of stray dogs, he immediately hid Doaks in his garage.
Later he even found the owner of the dog and told him to always keep his collar on him so that he would not be taken away. But, unfortunately, one day the dog took control of the animal, because he was walking around without a collar.

Derrick could not let him go. He decided to find Doaks. Derrick called all the shelters and went to see him, even if he was told that Doaks was not there. Eventually, he found her in one of the shelters.
Derrick adopted Doax and brought him home. He hid it from his former careless parents and always took it off with a tie.
Soon he put his house up for sale and moved to a village where they had a fenced yard. The two dogs live there with their loving family.
