No one wants to hear the cry of a puppy in pain, but that’s exactly what a good Samaritan in northern Minnesota recently heard.
The terrible voice kept coming and going, so a kind spirit came out to investigate the source.
As the person approached the source of the cries, they found a puppy mixed with 4-month-old Shepherds, who was in terrible pain.
Upon closer inspection, it appeared that the helpless animal had been there for weeks.
The fact that the innocent baby was crying meant that he was alive, but hardly. A kitten named Baylor was found in a window well with something wrapped tightly around his abdomen.
When the kind person approached, it was then that the connecting cable was found tightly wound around the kitten’s belly. The cord was inserted into her waist, causing severe injuries to her stomach.
Unfortunately, the rescuers believe that this crime was done deliberately.
“Baylor’s mother stood and stared as if to protect her from further harm,” said Animal Humane Society in a Facebook post. “She was probably feeding him so he could survive.”
Baylor was rushed to a nearby veterinarian who was able to remove the cable. Baylor needed urgent professional help to repair the severe damage to his growing organs.
Unfortunately, when the investigation began, the rescue team found out that this is not the first case of cruelty to animals in the residence where Baylor was found.
The skin on Baylor’s lower abdomen was reattached, and urinary function was restored. Although surgery is rare, veterinarians knew what to do. Լ Baylor survived.
He is currently recovering in a foster home, but still has a long way to go.
