Lewis Baiker is a real hero hero, a man who worked all the time, often doing more than he had to.
He did that to just to keep his mind off the things that had recently happened to him, as it was very hard for him…
The thing is that one year ago, he was not a single man and he was married to a woman named Steffany.
Sadly things didn’t work out well between them,so they divorced.
One of the reason of their divorce was that Lewis was raised in a big family, so wanted to have many children,
But what refers to Steff she had other plans and priorities and didn’t want the same as her husband.
The most heart-breaking for Lewis was that she didn’t like children at all.
It was already clear for Lewis that their marriage wouldn’t work because of that kind of differences, so they got divorced without even hesitation.
After that he believed that he would finally find someone who would see the same world as he did…
One day, when the man was on his way to work he suddenly heard crying. He was crossing the street, when he stopped and tried to focued on that noise .
Suddenly he realized that it was coming from the alley. He knew he was late for work, but it didn’t make him leave without knowing who was crying.
It was still early morning, so he started following the sound. After some time he noticed a boy who was sitting at the back of the alle and was crying.
He felt so sorry for him and wanted to help. When the man approached him, the poor boy raised his head, revealing his red eyes and stood up.
“Who, who are you?” he asked in a trembling voice.
“Hey, Don’t worry,”he answered. “I want to help you. May I ask you what happened and why are you crying?”
“Please, can you take me away from them, please help me, if you can! I need help”
“Who are they? Can You tell me what happened? About whom are you talking about?”
Lewi tried to calm the young boy down and findout what was wrong, but instead of that he started screaming.
“Ohh, noo! They’re here!” he continued yelling, and looking over Lewis’ shoulder as if there were some people who tried to harm him.
Seeing all that Lewis turned around, but he didn’t find anyone.
He couldn’t understand why the young boy was acting so strangely. Suddenly he stood up and started running and the man went after him .
“Wait, wait!” Lewis yelld, “I can help you!”
But the young boy didn’t stop and kept running. Eventually he it became clear that he was going to a church.
Lewis went after him, but couldn’t find him there. Looking all over the church, he still couldn’t find him.
He wasn’t there, as if he had disappeared. When he decided to come out, he suddenly spotted the boy, who crouched behind the church and was crying.
“Hey, it’s alright,” he approached him. “I can help you, believe me and everything will be okay.”
At that time the boy looked up and hugged Lewis.”Don’t leave me, “Please! I wouldn’t run away. Take me with you, I need help” he cried.
Lewis couldn’t leave him there and it felt like a strange connection that was born between them.
He chose help him and not to abandon him. After that he lookd at the boy and said:
“Of course, I’ll help you,don’t to worry, okay? But can you tell me what happened?.”
The boy finally started talking wiping away his tears.
“I’m Henry, eight years old. My parents died 3months ago, so there’s no one to take care of me.”
“But there should be someone to take care of you, maybe neighbors or someone else? ” Lewis asked.
Henry shook his head.
“Nope, nnot really… During all this months I lived in an orphanage, but some people took me away ….”
“What, who?” Lewis got shocked.You were kidnappeed?”
The boy started nodding.
“One day I was walking by the orphanage all alone, as I don’t have any friends and no one to play with me.
So after losing my parents I’m always alone. So during that, when I was walking, someone suddenly put something on my nose.
He was behind me.At the time I started smeling something bad and then fell asleep. After waking up, I saw that people.
I assumed they were some beggars, cause they had dirty clothes and… I was right…”
Lewis simply couldn’t believe all that. “Did they hurt you, Henry.?”
“They were very cruel for me, as they didn’t even give me food forcing me to beg on the streets.
They were always with me, so it was impossible to escape. But I managed to escape this morning… When you came to me, I noticed them again, as they were looking for me!”
“That’s so awful,” he replied. “But.. Henry, why didn’t you go back to orphanage? It would be safer there for you.”
“It’s quite far from here, so I don’t know how to get there by myself. I was afraid to be alone and I’m so glad that I met you! Please help me.”
“I promise, I will,” Lewis told the boy comforting him. “Come on,we will go and tell the police all about that so they can punish them?
After that I will take you to your orphanage,” the boy finally calmed down and felt so excited…
When they arrived at the police station, they found out that the authorities had already been looking for the boy and thought that he had escaped from the orphanage.
Soon they found out that the reality was quite different. After learning his tragic story they took pity on the young child.
They thanked Lewis for his help and decided to escort the boy to his orphanage .
“We’ll take care of everything, now you can go, sir,” the officer told him. But Lewis didn’t want to go and suggested accompanying the boy to the orphanage.
“I hope you don’t mind. As you can see he’s still scared, so I don’t want to leave him here all alone,” he told the officer and looked at Henry.
He was sitting there and eating his sandwich brought by the officers.
Understanding that it would be better for Henry, they allowed Lewis to take with him, but before leaving, they asked Henry to help them create sketches of that people who kidnapped him.
Henry was still scared, but as he had Lewis by hisside who gave him courage, he did what the officers told him.
Later,they went to the orphanage together,and when Lewis was already about to go, Henry approached him once again and asked:
“Lewis,can you please visit me sometimes? You’ve helped me so much and I like you. Please don’t forget aboyut me and vvisit me when you’re free. Thanks for everything!”
“Of course, I’ll come to see ya, Henry,” Lewis said with a smile. “You’re not alone, okay?. I’ll be by your side whenever you need me”
“Thanks,” whispered Henry and went inside.
That day, when Lewis got home, he was simply unable to forget Henry and his face asking not leave him.
It never happened to him before, but when it came to Henry, he simply forgot about work. His boss called him several times, but he didn’t answer, because he was thinking about Henry.
The next morning, he decided to leave the house earlier so that he could see Henry before going to work. When Henry saw him, he got so excited that started jumping for joy .
“Lewis. you really kep’t your promise! I’m so happy to see you again, thank you!”
He smiled at him and gave him a box full of chocolates and also a pair of beautiful shoes, as he had spptedd Henry’s old shoes.
Henry ciuldn’t stop smiling.It really meant a lot to him. He couldn’t believe that he didn’t forget about him. It was so heart touching.
After that Lewis continued visitng him almost every day spending as much time with him as he could. After a few weeks he started realizing that he got so attached to Henry that he couldn’t even spend a day without seeing him.
He didn’t want to leave him anymore. It was something indescricible. Eventually he wanted to adopt him but at first asked Henry about it
“ Henry,I want to be your father. Would you like to be my son and start living with me?.”
The boy started happily nodding and hugged him.
“Yes, I want to call you daddy..or DAD!” “Thank you for everything, daddy! I love you so much!”
When he called him liked that, Lewis simply started crying and hugged him back.
He always wanted tobe a daddy, and that feeling made his soul so happy. After a few days the adoption process started, which took some time to complete.Finally, they went home together as father and son.
All that time the police were still looking for the beggars who had kidnappes the boy.
After a few days they called Lewis and informed him that the beggars had finallu been arrested.
They also asked him to bring Henry to the station to check their identiity. He confirmed that it was them…
They were so happy that the beggars had been arrested and they didn’t need to worry about it anymore.
They were very happy with each other. After starting lving together Lewis came home earliner and no longer overworked. Henry is no longer lonely.
They spend their free time together watching some movies or games. Henry has also been enrolled in a new schooI, and is very excited about it. Lewis takes him there and picks him up every day after work.
One day, Lewis met a woman, when he was at Henry’s school. Turned out she was the aunt of one of his son’s classmates.
Her name is Emily, who came to pick up her niece, because the girl’s parents were working.
They met almost every days and started spending sme time together. It all happened before they knew it, and they had fallen in love with each oher.
After dating for a few monts, they eventualy decided to get married. Henry was also very happy for his daddy.
They got married 7 months after they met and already a year later welcomed their newborns who were twins.
Lewis now has the family of his dreams, living a happly married life. We are so happy for these wonderful family.
