The white-tailed deer is considered New York’s most popular game animal, which can be found throughout the state.
Nelly, the deer cub, who was rescued when she was only few weeks old, is one of the rescued cubs.
Therefore, the rescue team understood that most of all the baby needed a companion.
So here’s Polly, a very adorable and unique rabbit who is also a “resident” of the rescue center.
Polly was also very young, only five weeks old, when she was introduced to Nellie.
Seeing Polly, Nelly immediately approached her and started to lick .
As for Polly, she didn’t seem to mind at all, and from that moment on she followed Nellie wherever she went.
The two sweet creatures immediately became friends . They liked to lie in the corner for a long time and just look at each other.
They did everything together, helping each other in any matter.
After some time, they started taking Nellie out so that she could get used to being outside as well.
Then she started communicating with other rescued animals too.
Both of them were flourishing becoming more active day by day.
We are also happy to mention that in the spring they will both be fully ready to be released into the wild.
Due to their wonderful connection Nellie and Polly were able to overcome everything and are now they’re fully prepared for their future life in the wild.
